Greensboro, N.C.- At approximately 9:15 p.m. last night, North Carolina A&T Police & Public Safety received a call about an infant in a campus parking lot. Police immediately dispatched an officer to the corner of East Market Street and Benbow Road and discovered an infant in the Webb Hall parking lot.

The female infant was found strapped in a baby car seat, next to a car. The temperature was just slightly above 40 degrees at that time last night.

Police called 911 and the infant was transported to the Greensboro Women's Hospital by a Guilford County EMS, where she appears to be in good condition. A&T police officers located the infants mother later on that evening in the investigation, which is still ongoing.

There will be a press conference at 3 p.m. this afternoon, and further details will be released as they become available.
